Training for social prescribers, clinicians and other practitioners in supporting pain self-management
Health and social care professionals working with people with persistent pain, are increasingly recognising the need to change how they work.
It is widely understood that a reliance on medicines only, with their side effects and long term problems just adds to the challenges.
A self-management approach, based on the biopsychosocial model, is now seen by many as the most effective option.
The Ten Footsteps Training Programme
In response to this need, the Live Well with Pain team has developed a training course for clinicians, social prescribers, and other health and social care professionals.
The course runs across three half-day sessions, spread over a period of weeks so that participants can practice their skills in everyday work situations between sessions.
At the end of the course, participants have the key skills and tools they need to be able to confidently guide people on their journey to becoming effective self-managers of their pain.
Accredited in 2022
