Join the Lived Experience Collective – because your voice matters
2nd May 2025 | Tim Atkinson
The British Pain Society (BPS) is re-launching their Lived Experience Collective, a database of patient volunteers willing to support research and interventions by being available to share experience and answer questions on an ad hoc (as and when required) basis. See below for more details, including how to join.
Are you living with pain or caring for someone who is? Your experiences, insights, and perspectives are invaluable in shaping how pain is understood, managed, and supported across the UK.
The Lived Experience Collective (LEC) is a growing community of people living with pain and their carers who want to make a difference. Led by the Expert Patient and Carer Committee (EPCC) at the British Pain Society, the LEC ensures that real-life experiences drive change in pain care, influence policy, and improve patient resources.
Why join?
Share your experiences to shape pain services and support.
Get involved in ways that suit you – respond to surveys, join working groups, or help raise awareness.

By joining, you’re helping to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard and valued – within the British Pain Society and beyond.
Together, we can create a stronger, more informed, and more inclusive approach to pain care.
