About our training
We run a range of training courses for practitioners, including
The Ten Footsteps Training Programme
Ten Footsteps is our flagship training programme. Accredited by the Personalised Care Institute, it is based on the core self-management themes embedded in Live Well with Pain’s respected Ten Footsteps Programme.
The course runs across three half-day sessions, spread over a period of weeks so that participants can practice their skills in everyday work situations between sessions.
At the end of the course, participants have the key skills and tools they need to be able to confidently guide people on their journey to becoming effective self managers of their pain.

This seven hour course is split of over two half day sessions. The course focuses on person centred approaches to chronic pain and the shift from a biomedical view of pain.
Session one (more skills) offers insights into the current science of pain and how the core skills of self-management can reduce its impact on health and well-being. The second session (less pills) explores the role of pain medicines, potential harms and ways to reduce medicines using collaborative decision-making skills and tools.
