With over 20 years of experience as a consultant psychologist and a national clinical lead, I am passionate about improving the quality of life and wellbeing of people living with persistent pain, fibromyalgia, and long covid.
I specialise in pain management and fatigue management, using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
As the National Clinical Lead – Persistent Pain at Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government, I work with multidisciplinary teams, health boards, and stakeholders to develop and implement policies, guidelines, and best practices for pain services across Wales.
I also lead the Living Well Service at Powys Teaching Health Board, where I oversee the delivery of a biopsychosocial model of care for patients with complex pain and fatigue conditions. Additionally, I run my own consultancy, psych45 ltd, where I provide psychotherapy, executive coaching, and organisational development services to individuals and organisations.
Owen will be presenting Keynote session 3: Integrating effective self-management in services and communities, at 3pm, together with Laura Hissey.
